Verb

Verb are a design studio who initially contact me in early 2009 to create a small website using animation without Flash. I have produced several site with them since then.

JLM Logistics uses a combination of animated GIFs and Javascript to display an initial animation on each page. Some of the pages have long text and I created a javascript scrollbar to allow for a consistent framed design.

I used Silverstripe CMS for the new Blinds by Bayliss site. This simple and elegant design uses subtle Javascript transitions and an sliding image gallery to display the company’s products.

The Tribeca Living site was a challenge – the site needed to be completed in one day. I coded the HTML and CSS, cropping images from the mockups provided by Verb to create a stable and efficient site. We added a little Javascript to do some nice image transitions on the banner for the Featured Estate page, and on the same page there are ‘read more’ links that keep the layout clean but providing all the details.

Makebook was a fun test of my javascript skills. I used JQuery to produce a zoom effect on the book covers on the homepage. The beauty of this is that the text on the book covers can easily be changed. When the link is clicked it opens a Javascript overlay page loaded with an AJAX function. I coded all the HTML and CSS from the designs provided by Verb, and wrote it to make it easy for the Makebook developers to integrate with their existing site.
