The Tumut Real Estate (TRE) site has been up and running since February 2008 and I’m still very happy with it. TRE contacted me hoping to upgrade their site. The site was built using MS Frontpage and it did not look professional. It was hard to update and it had to be updated often as properties were bought and sold.

TRE needed a system where they could enter, modify and remove properties – for sale, auction or rent, and upload photos and other information. I created a secure online application where they could do that.

I did the graphic design for the site, keeping it simple and uncluttered, in order to allow the properties to receive the user’s focus.

I developed a property search function that reads from the database and returns results accurately and quickly.

I used PHP to process the uploaded property photos and display them on the site. Some of the properties need to be highlighted, for example as “reduced” or “under offer”. I developed a simple banner system using CSS that overlays the image with a coloured label.

I also converted their lengthy rental application form to an online rental application which saves time and money by reducing data entry costs. The form dynamically generates a drop-down list from the active rental properties in the database.

I am very happy with the style and function of the site and it pleases me to know that Tumut Real Estate have seen a return on their investment in developing their web presence.
